Lead Generation
Generating leads is the most overlooked part of selling SaaS. Most people focus too much on how to close, but I found that if someone isn't generating as many sales as they'd like, it's because they are not getting enough meetings.
So whether you're a young startup or work at a proven enterprise, you still need to generate leads. For your industry, you need to understand what works best, whether it's a cold email, cold calling, LinkedIn, Trade Shows. Whatever it takes, you need to start with realizing who you want to sell to and find a consistent communication channel to keep reaching out to these prospects.

Qualify The Prospect
After you generate your first meeting, you need to qualify your prospect to make sure they are a fit to buy your product and service. This will be true if you are a sales development rep, business development rep, account executive, and even account manager. In SaaS Sales, tech sales, and software sales, you're looking for specific pains that your solution can solve.

Pitch, Presentation, & Demo
Once you qualify the prospect and it's clear for everyone that there is an apparent, obvious problem, this is the time you actually try to pitch your SaaS. Usually, if it's software, it will be in the form of a demo. It could be PowerPoint with a mix of you sharing your screen and going into the software to show them exactly how the software is going to work

Hi Patrick! Great video – I made a lot of notes! Something I’m wondering though is if you get to the stage where you’ve pitched, demoed and answered all their questions but they’re not ready to commit for whatever reason so you agree to get back in touch in the future, would you mark that deal in your CRM as ‘lost’ at that stage and create a new deal when and if they’re ready to go ahead in the future, or would you keep the deal open, even if the next follow up might not be for 6 months?

    Hey Patrick,
Brilliant video, your sales principles are an absolute goldmine.
I was wondering if you could do a video about selling Paid Advertising services? From outsourcing the lead sourcing process, to cold email, follow up, discovery call, closing etc. Would love to hear your take on it!

Hey Patrick! I was wondering if you could make a video on the different types of sales industries? Like for example insurance sales, medical device sales, industrial sales etc. I know software sales is what your main knowledge is on but it would be nice to know the different types of sales you can go into and know which one is right for you. Great video!❤……

    Also ur rlly handsome😶

Patrick, last century, starting in 1968, I progressively opened the market in both Australia and the States for vertical markets, because while I had the basic Engineering training that enabled me to understand applications in depth, I also had an understanding of Accounting Software from Mainframe through to Minicomputer applications. This century It is hard to get that breadth of Sales Training that last century was common place in the offices of what was referred to as Snowhite (IBM) and the Seven Dwarfs. That market has radically changed and I think that many of your viewers would appreciate you covering the sale to specific industry sectors, because without that specific understanding many Sales people flounder. As an example I personally initiated the creation of the World’s first Debit Card in 1982, after the newly appointed CEO of the major Card business sort my personal advice, because of my proven practical experience in the International Banking Sector. That’s not the story you will find with a Google search, but now that I have survived 12weeks in the COVID 19Intensive Care Ward at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne Australia and 18weeks in COVID Recovery, I now have the time available to set that important record straight.

I am supporting your viewers request for further information because while you may have to further research the subject your explanation of the underlying factors would be well appreciated. Phil.
